For the first time, selection can be done using the up and down buttons to skip a row of songs (in previous games, these buttons are exclusively used for e-Amusement services and certain modifiers). Nine song choices, organized in three rows, are in clear view of the player at any time scrolling past them will reveal additional row of songs, somewhat like the one used in DDR 4thMix. While the previous game, DDR 2014, still uses an interface that resembles the Cover Flow system introduced in DDR X2, DDR A changes it into a Sound Voltex-like pagelist giving the illusion of a touchable interface, although selection is still made using buttons below the monitor. The most significant change is made towards the song selection screen. The game features a handful of overhauls to the existing system used by previous games. It is the first international arcade release of Dance Dance Revolution since Dance Dance Revolution X2.Ī sequel, titled Dance Dance Revolution A20, was released in 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series.ĭance Dance Revolution A in Oakville, Ontario, Canada This game was also released in North America later in 2016, in the form of new cabinets with e-Amusement connectivity, while Europe received new offline cabinets on December 15, 2017. It was released on Main Japan and Asia as a dedicated cabinet and as an upgrade kit, with Japan receiving a localized build, while the Korean release was delayed to the next week. Didn't notice that your string of code for the pad was different than what I put, so I tried it, and it still didn't work.Bemani PC Type 5 ( Windows 10 Embedded Standard)ĭance Dance Revolution A (pronounced Ace) is a music video game, the 16th installment of the Dance Dance Revolution arcade series in Japan (the 8th in Europe and the 7th in North America), and the sequel to the 2014 release of Dance Dance Revolution. The strangest thing is that I had XBCD recognizing it as a normal gamepad, but then after uninstalling and reinstalling the XBCD drivers a bunch of times it won't work. It tries to install the drivers (it even gives me the signing warning), but then it gives me that error again. Once the DDR pad has the driver installed correctly, open the XBCD Setup Utility from the Start Menu and assign buttons to the digital pad directions so that you'll be able to press opposite directions on the DDR pad simultaneously.Įrrr. %XBCD.DeviceDesc% = Install, USB\VID_0C12&PID_8809 RedOctane Ignition Pad If Windows cannot find a driver for the DDR pad, edit the XBCD.inf file in C:\Windows\Inf and and the following line to the list of devices. If you do not see an XBCD Xbox Controller under Human Interface Devices in the Device Manager, use USBView to see if the device is being recognized correctly by the USB Hub controller. Unplug the DDR pad and plug it back in so that Windows can install the drivers automatically. Run XBCDv103.exe and install the drivers. OK, I inserted "%XBCD_DDR.DeviceDesc%=Install, USB\VID_0C12&PID_8809 RedOctane Ignition Pad" into the INF after finally finding it, so it sees it as a DDR pad, but it still gives the same error. :/ It gives me the error that you list in the troubleshooting thing, but I do not have the INF file since the installation is done by EXE files now. The problem now is that it refuses to install. *sigh* OK, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the normal drivers. Oh, and since I'll be using the thing anyway, I can try to help with debugging. What's the secret to installing that thing? :/ I figured this problem could be solved by installing the dance pad drivers, but when I try to point the installation to go to them instead of the normal XBCD drivers, it gives me "The specified location does not contain information about your hardware." XBCD sees it, but when I go into StepMania it will not recognize the button presses. OK, I just went through a few hours worth of converting my new RedOctane Ignition DDR pad's xbox plug to USB.
